Broadcast Design Session 5

Session Review
The seacond map will feature a similar textured design.

This short evening session simply consisted of me cleaning up and finally layering the grid over my atlas map preparing the basic atlas map.; However, after taking a moment to look at my current atlas map, I have decided that the current shades of green I have applied to my atlas display a harsher tone and I need to apply a lighter shade of green to the landmass in order to make the areas of the topic to be more visually striking to the eye and continue to have a balanced tone of colour with the rest of the map.

Final logo concept for Hour Glass News
In addition, I will also apply the same colour tones in my 2d map design to a 2.5d map design. The reason why I am calling the other map concept 2.5d is that the images 2d but will simply feature textures on the landmass, ocean and clouds like most weather reports featured on daily television.

Furthermore, I have also created my first final logo for my broadcast design "Hour Glass News". After browsing through existing logo designs of companies associated with an hourglass, I created a new mood board and experimented with different shades of green and monochrome colours until I decided to use two shades of grey for the hourglass sand and the light green for the container.
